From the positions of Holy Trinity and the Guildhall Tower at the left, this must be Humber Dock and not as I had at first thought, Humber Dock Basin. Humber Dock had closed in 1968 and had silted up considerably by the time I made this picture 11 years later. The row of dockside sheds hides the buildings on Humber Dock St, and I think those visible above it have since been demolished. Considerable dredging was needed for Hull Marina to be opened in the dock in 1983, and the structure in the dock with a bollard was removed.

Still Occupied

Images on this site are arranged into rough areas by location as in my book 'Still Occupied', available on Blurb. Eventually this site will contain all the images in that book and more.
